Closing some tabs …

First of all, it’s Yuri’s Night! Yay! Forty-nine years ago tonight, Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space. Nifty, huh?

Second, have you been reading “13 Things That Saved Apollo 13” on Universe Today? No? Well, here are the first, second, and third parts.

Third, yesterday I mentioned an 8-bit version of “Smells Like Teen Spirit. The following bit from YouTube is not exactly the same as what I heard, but it will do.

And finally, Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy dot com writes an amazing blog. He wrote an article called 40 years later, failure is still no longer an option. In it he sums up the way that I feel about the current state of the space program, our past, and our future if we choose to walk that path.

And personally, I see no good reason not to stride that path as if we were born to do so. Because we were.
