10,000 years will give you such a crick in the neck!

So will sleeping wrong. I have not had a neckache like the one I had yesterday in decades!* Not since I was a little kid and would often awake in positions that might make a cat sore.

What was almost worse than the neck pain (at least at first) was the fact that I awoke with the words, “stupid sexy Flanders” on my lips.

I really do not want to know what I was dreaming about.

[*] It surprises me that I can truthfully describe something in that fashion.

  1. rough night for everybody
I was pretty sore this morning, too, but mostly in the knees. I rode my bike 12 lovely miles yesterday, and when I got home around 11:30 PM, I realized I didn’t have my house key, and my sister wasn’t around to let me back in. After a couple of hours of relaxing on the porch swing and making phone calls that my sister never answered, my bike and I spent a chilly, uncomfortable night in my car. Fortunately I keep a blanket in there for just such an emergency.
Nizzie finally woke me up and let me in around 7 AM. Turned out her night was rather uncomfortable, too – she’d accidentally fallen asleep in a chair at her lab. And the office phone had scared her half to death when it rang at exactly 1 AM. Apparently she’s been there after hours often enough to notice that when the phone rings on the hour in the middle of the night, they’re just testing the system and it’s safe to ignore.
